Provides maintenance planning and analysis and generates maintenance work schedules as needed based on priorities and available resources. Responsible for supervising a rotating shift and unit’s employees in the safe and cost effective maintenance of the plant.

  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review work performed.
  • Ensures that all department work performed is done in a safe manner and that all work areas are maintained to meet or exceed all MSHA standards.
  • Promotes and encourages teamwork and high performance standards throughout the department.
  • Ensures that the daily and weekly maintenance plan is communicated and coordinated.
  • Assists in the development of long-range maintenance management plans and budgets.
  • Develops short-range maintenance plans.
  • Generates a work plan.
  • Ensures compliance and implementation of maintenance management plans and budgets.
  • Orders all necessary parts and materials to complete the work plan.
  • Ensures that all necessary parts are pre-positioned and/or delivered to the job site prior to commencement of the job.
  • Prepares forecasts for future maintenance activities on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Generates work schedules.
  • Participates in the preparation and administration of the maintenance budget; submits budget recommendations, monitors expenditures, prepare cost estimates, submits justifications for equipment.
  • Updates equipment history and equipment component tracking.
  • Works with the planners/supervisors, crafts workers/technicians, and reliability engineer(s) to ensure the equipment improvement activities are occurring.
  • Performs toolbox and safety meetings during scheduled shifts.
  • Responsible to meet shift maintenance goals.
  • Distribute job cards, and provide updates to relieving supervisor. Close out completed work orders.
  • May perform scheduling duties as needed.


Education: 2 or 4 year engineering or technical degree desired

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a mining or mineral processing operation with supervisory experience is preferred

Schedule Demands: Must be willing to work alternate schedules that may include early mornings, nights and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
