Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of a Dispatcher/Pit Supervisor is to direct equipment and monitor material movement to achieve the shift plan, as well as ensure ore quality and safety in the pit operation. The dispatcher will work with one or more field coordinators to supervise the crew and accomplish the shift plan. He or she will be efficient in using the dispatch system tool, as well as knowledgeable about the pit operations, to accomplish this task.

  • Coordinate the movement of Mine Operators (Production Truck, Shovel/Drill, Graders, Loaders) using the Modular Mining System.
  • Take radio and phone calls from employees and Pit Supervisor partners.
  • Communicate maintenance issues in a timely manner with the maintenance teams
  • Monitor communication between employees to ensure proper radio etiquette
  • Maximize the mine plan that was handed down by Mine Engineering
  • Brief and debrief crews at the beginning and endof each shift
  • Conduct safety and environmental talks
  • Prepare daily reports
  • Authorize time in the timekeeping system


  • Must have computer skills
  • Mining experience preferred
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience leading large crews in a union environment preferred.
  • Must be able to function in a fast paced environment
  • Degree preferred
