Summary of Principal Functions :

Provide electrical engineering support to the mine maintenance and plant maintenance departments when needed.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of electrical system projects from determining cost projections and justifications, materials needed, and design specifications to final construction, installation, and start-up. Ensure project plans meet all requirements and standards.

  • Ensure consultant and contractor work is scoped properly with specifications, coordinated with operations, and performed safely.

  • Direct and coordinate work performed by operating employees as required for complete and functional project installation in order to ensure conformity to engineering design and specifications.

  • Conduct studies and prepare reports on project cost projections and potential cost-saving projects.

  • Develop plans and procedures for maintenance engineering projects to ensure equipment longevity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Provides electrical technical guidance and expertise to management, engineers, electrical crafts people and electrical coordinators.

  • Evaluates electrical equipment malfunctions and recommends design modifications to eliminate them.

  • Provide electrical safety recommendations to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and mine safety requirements.

  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies that may improve maintenance or operating efficiency.

  • Maintain company files on performed electrical work.

    Education Needed :

    B.S Electrical Engineering or closely related

    Experience Needed:

    3 years industrial electrical engineering
