Purpose of the Role:

Lead an operations crew to safely execute daily mine plans to deliver blended ore to meet plant requirements on a shift by shift basis.

Typical Tasks Specific to this Role

-Supervise and direct mine operating crews (including drillers and shift maintenance resources), and hold them accountable to safely meet performance expectations.

-Resource crews with skills required to meet daily plan requirements to deliver three ore blend to plants and moving required material and waste in line with mine plans taking into account train movements, equipment availability, and manpower availability

-Monitor performance of crews by working in the field to understand issues related to delivery of required material during shift. Work with crews to identify areas for improvement, provide recommendations to section manager and implement any changes across crew. Monitor implementation of ideas on your crew in a manner to minimize variation across crews.

-Identify issues and problems that arise during Level 1 interactions and elevate those that can’t be addressed during the shift to the Level 2 meeting though the action card process and report on those that have been resolved.

-Monitor environmental issues and concerns in the pit and complete daily inspections in pit. Address deficiencies and escalate those that are not within level of accountability.

-Provide feedback to mine dispatchers so they are utilizing dispatch system to maximize pit productivity and performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

-A two year degree (BS Mine Engineering preferred), or equivalent relevant work experience

-1 to 5 years related experience preferred

-Experience/knowledge in mine engineering, mining, crushing, and transportation (rail) processes systems and ore characterizations (blending and grades)

-Experience/knowledge in mine planning, land/mine development and reclamation

-Experience/knowledge in maintenance and reliability processes and systems

-Demonstrated commitment to the continuous increase of knowledge and the application of such
